Stuart B Meyers is a Queer, Jewish artist and performer. He creates dance theatre, Jew-ish events and video installations. The Shabbos Queen was created in Berlin in what used to be a Jewish bakery before the war. Since then it has been presented in Berlin, Brooklyn, Philadelphia & Tel Aviv – with great success. This is his first time in Amsterdam!

The 5-course dinner will be prepared by Amsterdam based vegan chef Alexander Gershberg whose food is a mesmerising experience for the senses.

The location is the beautiful and newly restored former synagogue building of the Uilenburgersjoel. Built in 1766 it is one of the few original buildings that remain in the former Jewish Quarter in Amsterdam. It is home to Oy Vey Amsterdam.

"Stuart - You should be proud. It's obvious that you have a gift to share, and we're lucky you do. I think coaxing a bunch of millennials into taking part in ancient rituals, all while disconnecting from technology and reconnecting to each other and the world, all in a space based upon a "Palace in Time", is risky to say the least, and somehow you're doing it, making Shabbat fun, sexy and not just for Jews. Brilliant." ~ Nick (NYC)

""Dearest Stuart, yesterday evening was such a beautiful dreamy landscape of pleasure and delight and magic. You were the perfect host(ess) - it takes a lot to get me out of the house on a Friday night, even when I first arrived I was feeling unsure and anxious, however you welcomed us so warmly and created such a beautiful event... the ambiance, the conversation, listening to everyone, it was sooo peaceful and divine. Well done you! I had no idea what to expect but you were magnificent." ~ Tom (Berlin)
